Boca Raton police have charged a former security guard at one of the city’s private schools with battery on his supervisor after he was fired, a police report obtained by Boca Daily News said.
Livenstong Menard, 24, of Ft. Lauderdale, was arrested Aug. 12 at the Pine Crest School on St. Andrews Boulevard for allegedly “violently shoving” his supervisor into a wall and throwing numerous punches at him after he was terminated as a security guard. He had been employed by Sunstates Security and was listed in the police report as a citizen of Haiti, however no immigration detainer had been filed against him, records showed. The altercation occurred as Menard was leaving the property after having heard the news he had been fired, according to the report.
Police reviewed security camera footage prior to arresting Menard, who had apparently left the premises before officers arrived.
“The video clearly showed Menard turn to [the victim] and initiate the physical contact by shoving him into the corner of the [guard] shack, followed by wild punches thrown toward his face,” the report stated.
(Boca Daily News has withheld the victim’s name.)
Menard was charged with battery upon a licensed security guard. He was detained at the Palm Beach County Jail for about 24 hours before being released on $3,000 bond.
